45-year-old Shahi is the General Secretary Rastriya Prajatantra Party. In the early days, she was active in left-wing student politics for some time, but after the formation of RPP, she became active in its student organisation and women's organisation.
She has been the Minister of State twice in 2072 BS and 2074 BS. She also became a lawmaker in the second constituent assembly.
