Suman Sayami was born in Kalimati, Kathmandu, Nepal. Suman Sayami’s father Jeevan Raj Manandhar was a communist leader in Nepal. Suman Sayami is a leading activist for the preservation of culture, heritage and civil rights in Kathmandu such as Guthi movement. He was a key person in the Guthi Bill movement. He also led the youth in the agitation against the Guthi Bill. He is the chairperson of different committees and forums in Kathmandu. Suman Sayami got 13,770 votes in the local election for Mayor in 2079 B.S.
